Championship Honours For Johnson And Daniels At BSEC

Husqvarna UK supported riders delivered championship winning results at rounds nine and 10 of the Enduro21.com ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship, powered by Husqvarna Motorcycles.

With Black Dog Woods marking the penultimate venue of the 2014 series, the pressure was on for riders to deliver the goods. In the Husqvarna Under 23 category, the weekend was one of celebration for MPS Racing Husqvarna's Rob Johnson. As the strongest competitor of the season, Johnson wrapped up his championship with a victory at round 10. Hampered by a few mistakes at round nine to place second, Johnson put himself back in the driving seat at round 10. Controlling the race lead, Johnson picked up his seventh race win of the year to be crowned this year's Under 23 champion.

In the Michelin Comp VI Elite class there was mixed fortunes for Midwest Racing's Jamie McCanney. Powering his way to a confident runner-up result on Saturday, McCanney saw his day end badly on the final special test on Sunday when he crashed and dropped back to sixth.

For MPS Racing's Husqvarna duo of Jack Rowland and Jamie Lewis, the weekend was a difficult one. Placing a competitive fourth on Saturday, Lewis was forced to call it an early day on Sunday. Sixth at round nine, Rowland improved one position to finish fifth at round 10.

In the Motul Under 19 class, the fight for championship honours continued between Freestyle Husqvarna's Joe Wootton and close rival Brad Freeman. Trading wins during the weekend, Wootton emerged from Black Dog Woods with his one-point championship lead still intact.

Claiming a double win in the TXC Women's class Jane Daniels also wrapped up her third straight BSEC title.
