Husqvarna factory world Enduro racer, Alex Salvini claimed a double Elite class victory at rounds seven and eight of the Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship held at Enduroland, Adstone over the weekend of 19/20 May.
Salvini, riding a standard production TC250, arrived at Adstone as a last minute entry but wasted little time in getting to grips with the muddy conditions. Round 7 on Saturday saw Alex immediately set the fastest time during the opening lap and opened up a ten-second advantage in the Elite class. Improving his pace throughout the day the EWC regular eventually topped round seven by over 20 seconds.
For round 8 on the Sunday, Alex ended the first lap in second place but then upped his pace to be the fastest man in class on ever subsequent lap. The impressive speed and determination of the Italian saw him finish with over a minute adavntage after 7 laps and a fastest lap nearly 7 seconds quicker than anyone else.
The UK Sprint regulars, MPS Racing, also had a strong weekend with Jack Rowland on the TE250 missing the podium by one place both days to finish 4th and to be the fastest E1 rider in the Under 23s, whilst Jamie Lewis on the TE310 placed 7th in the Elite class on Saturday and improved by one place to finish 6th on Sunday.
The final two rounds of the Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship take place 16/17 June at Canada Heights in Kent. Full details on http://www.enduro-sprint.com.
