Reigning
British Supermoto Champion Christian Iddon will lead the
Husky Sport Squad into the fifth round of the British
Supermoto Championships this weekend. Heading over the Irish
Sea to Nutts Corner on the outskirts of Belfast, the best
British Supermoto riders will face Ireland’s best on this
tight tricky circuit.
With the action
kicking off at 10am and will without a doubt bring in the
fanatical Irish Motorcycle crowd to see the top stars in
action. Nutts Corner will see a welcome return to Husky
Sport rider Dave McKee, riding on his home territory he will
be out to prove a point during the weekend’s races. A nasty
crash last month saw him miss out on the last round and now
fully fit and confident after his win at the David Jefferies
memorial race last weekend Dave is keen to gain some podium
position. Making his debut appearance on the 450 Husqvarna,
McKee will, for the first time is competing in both classes.
Christian Iddon will once again be aiming for the wins and
to close down on the lead in both the 450 Class and the Open
Class where he is lying second behind Matt Winstanley and
David Tougher. Still awaiting a decision from the ACU
regarding his points allocation at the last round, Christian
has to be on top form this weekend and keep his wits about
him in the fight for the Championship title.
Jay
Smith will also be in hot contention for podium position
over the weekend and is looking forward to pushing his
fellow competitors hard. It will be an interesting battle in
both classes on this specifically built track with a
strategically placed tabletop planted in the middle of the
circuit designed to put the riders to the test.
